A ROARing Success

ROAR group with mascotDespite the threat of inclement weather, more than 1,000 registered participants came to Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, Md., on Saturday, April 29, to take part in Kennedy Krieger Institute’s annual ROAR for Kids event presented by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. The 5K run, low-mileage walk and family festival raised nearly $130,000 to support research programs for children at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Attendees enjoyed carnival games, face painting, a family festival featuring the Wegman’s Wellness Village, and the ROAR for Kids Mascot Challenge—an obstacle course race featuring mascots from Baltimore sports teams, high schools and universities.
