Through the fog and clouds, smiles brightened the course as we ROARed for the children and families seen at Kennedy Krieger Institute!
On Saturday, April 28th nearly 1,000 Institute staff, patients, families, and community members gathered together at Oregon Ridge to attend ROAR for Kids, presented by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. The event featured a 5K race, low-mileage walk, and family festival, complete with carnival games, healthy snacks donated by Wegmans, and the annual Mascot Challenge. For this year’s jungle theme, the most spirited participants received prizes for their GRRReat costumes. A special shout out to Landon Brown, who won the Cara Becker Youth Fundraising Award for the second year in a row! Landon raised more than $3,000 for the Institute. Overall, the event raised nearly $140,000.
All funds go directly to support research and programs at Kennedy Krieger. Thank you to everyone who made it a ROAR-ing great day!
