The 27th annual Festival of Trees kicked off the holiday season at the Maryland State Fairgrounds with nearly 800 spectacular holiday trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses created by local artists, corporations, and schools.
As the largest holiday-themed festival of its kind on the East Coast, Festival of Trees has become an eagerly anticipated holiday tradition for many area families. This year, more than 50,000 attendees enjoyed live holiday entertainment, seasonal shopping, a silent auction, games and rides in SantaLand, princess visits, and photos with Santa! New this year, before public hours on Sunday, more than 300 guests enjoyed a special breakfast with Santa himself. This new event sold out in its first year and is certain to become a new Festival of Trees tradition!
Proceeds from Festival of Trees directly benefit the research, treatment, education, and community programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Thank you to all of the volunteers, vendors, entertainers, staff, designers, attendees, and sponsors, especially our title sponsors BB&T, who helped make this event such a success!
