Information For Volunteers

If you want to help children unlock their potential and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and pitching in, there’s practically no limit to what you can do as a volunteer.

Volunteering at Kennedy Krieger Institute is a great way for anyone to get involved. If you have the time and the energy to help us out, we can offer you the opportunity to feel good and make a difference in the life of a child.

Volunteering at Kennedy Krieger Institute

Individual Volunteers
Volunteering at Kennedy Krieger Institute is a wonderful way for nearly anyone to get involved in helping the thousands of children we care for every year. As an Institute volunteer, you’ll help our staff with patient activities including crafts, games, and meals. If you have a special talent, don’t be surprised if we ask you to perform it for the kids!

Group Volunteers
If your company, community group, or organization is interested in helping children, we’d love to hear from you! Your groups can volunteer at the Institute by helping our staff with patient activities, or helping in your community or workplace by organizing food drives, participating in our Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift Program, or browsing our Amazon Wish List to purchase items needed by programs throughout the Institute.

Special Events Volunteering

Kennedy Krieger’s special events bring together thousands every year to raise money for the Institute, and awareness about the work we do to help children with disorders and injuries of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system. And if you’ve been to any of our events, you’ll know that they’re a joyful way to bring together family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbors in support of a common goal.

But these events can’t happen without people like you. Volunteering can be a rewarding way to make a difference in the life of a child, and a fun way for you to have a great time helping others.

If you’re interested in volunteering at one of our special events, please contact the Special Events Team by calling 443-923-7300 or emailing
