Thank you for supporting Project HEAL on #GivingTuesday!

We met our goal!  You have helped improve access to services for kids with disabilities.

If you didn't have a chance to donate on #GivingTuesday, there is still time to support Project HEAL.  Every donation is important!

#GivingTuesday – is a one-day worldwide campaign to give back. Each year, we identify one  Kennedy Krieger program to be the recipient of #GivingTuesday donations.  The goal this year is to raise $15,000 to support Project HEAL, an Institute program that provides legal representation for families fighting to get needed services for their children with disabilities.

Gabe’s bright smile masks the pain and struggles he has experienced just trying to get an education. His autism and behavior disorders caused him to be transferred from school to school (6 in all), so he made little progress.

At age 11, he was performing at a pre-k level. His verbal abilities were limited. He had poor social skills, yet desperately wanted friends. Gabe’s mother Kristina, who worked in the school system, knew that Gabe needed a specialized school. But the school system was unwilling to provide it.

Kristina turned to Project HEAL.  Project HEAL is a team of attorneys who specialize in disability law. For a rate far less than a private attorney, the team got Gabe placed in the school he needed.

Today, his mom reports that Gabe is much happier and has made friends. Your support of Project HEAL during our #GivingTuesday campaign can help other children like Gabe get the support that they need and deserve. Please make your gift today.
