Wawa and Father Support Kennedy Krieger’s Down Syndrome Clinic

Jay Culotta is an inspirational runner with a spectacular daughter—Hannah, who is about to turn 20 and who has Down syndrome—and a remarkable employer, Wawa. Thanks to this trio, Kennedy Krieger’s Down Syndrome Clinic has received nearly $350,000 to support the Clinic’s extensive research initiatives and to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford services.

Jay, a marathon runner, raises funds through Run for Hannah—his fundraising initiative—and Wawa generously matches these gifts. On April 16, Kennedy Krieger was honored at “Wawa Day,” one day each year set aside to celebrate Wawa’s customers, associates, and the communities it serves. This year also marks Jay’s 20th anniversary of running for Hannah and subsequently helping to provide for families at the Down Syndrome Clinic. We are so appreciative of this partnership and the impact it is having on the lives of children and families served at the Institute!
