Charles Crane Family Foundation Commits $10,000 to Support Youth Violence Prevention Video

Youth Violence PreventionThe Charles Crane Family Foundation has contributed $10,000 to Kennedy Krieger to support the Institute’s Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress.  This grant will allow the Center to produce violence prevention videos to benefit children and adolescents living in Baltimore City neighborhoods. These videos—developed by and featuring youth receiving services in the Center—will contain messaging geared toward self-empowerment, “being heard,” avoidance, and self-protection to make a difference in terms of breaking the cycle of violence. After a community screening for client and referral sources, Kennedy Krieger will distribute the videos to non-mental health agencies in Baltimore City, the National Child and Traumatic Stress Network Learning Center, and social media websites for consumption by audiences outside of Baltimore to ultimately reach a larger audience for greater impact.
